Mother Nature – The greatest magician

It was a lovely Sunday morning at Thal, a small, unexplored village near Alibaug. We, a group of 5 girls, decided to go for a walk, at around 5.15 am and explore one of the least visited beaches in Alibaug.

It was mid-December and as soon as we stepped out of the antique family house of our friend, I could feel the breeze, whistling around and touching us softly. I said to myself, “Wow, that’s a lovely start of the day!”

We felt excited and cheerful walking on the red soil all over the ‘kucchha-pukka’ road carved out of beautiful dense plants and strong age-old trees. It was an unusual experience for us, far away from the hustle-bustle of cities. To me, it felt like walking over the red-carpet with Mother-Nature watching over us and welcoming us to enjoy its splendid beauty.

Further along the road, we could hear varied sounds of different types of birds chirping, as if they are humming a sweet morning song. We came across unique species of butterflies, we had never seen before. One of them which specially caught our attention was a butterfly with light-blue transparent wings with orange spots over them. I was amazed to see that such a combination can look so beautiful!! Moreover, the butterfly sat elegantly on a shaded yellow flower, which made it look more striking. Otherwise, I might have disliked the colour combination, but the magic of nature just left us wondering. The picture was really a treat to watch!!

We went on walking briskly towards the beach, enjoying each other’s company. We were in our own world, chatting, laughing and shouting at times, but, as soon as we reached the beach we all fell silent. My eyes wide open. What we saw was breath-taking!!

The beach was completely deserted. There was absolutely no one except us. We could not see anyone for miles together. A thin layer of mist embracing us made me feel as if we are the only life on earth. As if world is still to begin and God has chosen us to be the only souls on this planet!!

Fascinated by the natural splendor we chose not to speak and unearth different facets of nature by ourselves. We all sat there, silently, some retrospecting their lives and some like me, with no thought in mind; mesmerized by the beauty of nature. Nature had casted its magical spell on me…..I was truly ‘spellbound’!!

All I could think of at that moment was, “How blessed we are?!” It is a gift to live in such a wonderful planet. If only we could realize this, everyone would be able to enjoy and lie peacefully in the lap of ‘Mother Nature’- The greatest magician on this earth.

I could still feel the cold breeze gently touching my cheeks. My thoughts slowly deepening as the sea….the sound of waves hauling me towards them. Before the breath-taking sight could seep-in in my soul, a round yellow-red shape emerged from beyond the horizon….looking more beautiful than ever!!

I just sat there looking at the Sun, dumbstruck, pondering over the innumerable unanswered questions in my mind. Questions about the super-natural power that painted the canvas earth so neat, so perfect, so beautiful and beyond imagination!!
